Running Club to Participate in BuckeyeThon Dance Marathon for First Time

This year the Running Club at Ohio State will have its first team at the Ohio State University BuckeyeThon Dance Marathon February 6-7, 2015.

BuckeyeThon, the largest student-run philanthropy organization at Ohio State, is a not-for-profit organization that works year-round to raise money to benefit pediatric treatment in the Hematology/Oncology/BMT Department at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

The largest BuckeyeThon event is the dance marathon that has around 4,000 participants. The dance marathon, held in the Ohio Union, is broken up into two 12-hour sifts dancing shifts. This year BuckeyeThon hopes to raise one million dollars for the patients of Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Other BuckeyeThon events held during the year are Carn Oval, Extra Life, Team Buckeye/Columbus Marathon, Miracle Miles 5K, and some high school events.

The BuckeyeThon Dance Marathon is a super fun event that raises a huge amount of money to a very important cause. The Running Club hopes to have at least 25 team members signed up and to raise $1,000. To sign up to be a part of the Running Club’s team, click here. To donate to the event, click here.
