We are the runners at Ohio State. From road running to cross country, track and field, and marathons, we run it all. Running Club at Ohio State welcomes beginners to competitive athletes. Both undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty can join.
Attendance is not mandatory. Runs are typically 3-8 miles, varying by our suggested training schedule and your personal preference. Workouts are typically two days a week and also completely optional. We have a fall cross country season and a spring track season. All runners are welcome, from long and middle distance to sprinters.
Running Club is a member of the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA), and through this National body, OSURC competes against other club teams from colleges such as University of Michigan (MRUN), Illinois, Penn State, and many more, all the way up to the National Club Championships.
Competitive members may compete in a full cross country and track and field season, featuring both NIRCA-sanctioned meets and D3 collegiate meets (as a club or unattached). Many members also participate in road 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, and marathons throughout the year.
Running Club at Ohio State is a student organization through the Ohio Union, and through Union funding, we are able to rent the French Field House for indoor workouts two days a week during the winter months. The Indoor Track and Field Series are open to all students and help keep us up to speed despite the snow.
Running Club is just as much a social club as a competitive club. On top of all the time we spend together running, we also hold social events all year round. We are truly a great group of friends and for some, teammates.
